Words with the Power to Move Generations (Psalm 78:7-8) 04 Nov 2026

Today's Bible Verse: “Then they would put their trust in God and would not forget his deeds but would keep his commands. They would not be like their ancestors—a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose hearts were not loyal to God, whose spirits were not faithful to him." — Psalm 78:7 What words are you speaking today that could shape the faith of the next generation? Our words have the power to encourage, teach, and influence the people around us, especially children and young people who are still learning what it means to trust God. Psalm 78:7 reminds us of the importance of passing our faith to the next generation so they will put their confidence in God, remember His mighty works, and follow His commands. Whether you're a parent, grandparent, mentor, teacher, or friend, the way you talk about God and live out your faith can leave a lasting spiritual legacy. “Want to listen without ads? Does God Have a Plan for Your Future? (Jeremiah 29:11) 03 Nov 2026

Today's Bible Verse: “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” — Jeremiah 29:11 Are you wondering what God has planned for your future? When life feels uncertain, prayers seem unanswered, or your circumstances don’t match your expectations, it can be difficult to trust that God is leading you somewhere good. Jeremiah 29:11 offers a powerful reminder that God has plans to give His people hope and a future. But this promise was originally given to the Israelites during their exile in Babylon, a season of hardship and waiting. Their story reminds us that God’s plans are not always fulfilled on our preferred timeline, yet we can continue to trust His faithfulness even when we cannot see what lies ahead. Where is Jesus in the Old Testament? (Luke 24:27) 02 Nov 2026

Today's Bible Verse:“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.” — Luke 24:27 In Luke 24:27, Jesus explains the Scriptures to two disciples walking along the road to Emmaus after His resurrection. They were struggling to understand what had happened, but Jesus showed them how Moses and the Prophets pointed to Him. The Old Testament is not separate from the story of Jesus. It lays the foundation for understanding who He is, why He came, and how His death and resurrection fulfilled God's promises. You Don't Have to Convince God to Care (Judges 11:29) 30 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "Then the Spirit of the Lord came on Jephthah. He crossed Gilead and Manasseh, passed through Mizpah of Gilead, and from there he advanced against the Ammonites." — Judges 11:29 Have you ever felt like you needed to prove your worth or convince God to care about your struggles? Judges 11:29 reminds us that God's presence and purpose aren't earned through human approval or personal achievement. Jephthah had experienced rejection and hardship, yet God worked through his life when the Spirit of the Lord came upon him. His story reminds us that our past and other people's opinions do not determine whether God can work through us. Experience God's Extravagant Love (Romans 5:8) 29 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." — Romans 5:8 Have you ever wondered if you've done too much wrong to be fully loved by God? Romans 5:8 reminds us that God's love isn't something we earn through good behavior or perfect obedience. He demonstrated His extravagant love by sending Jesus to die for us while we were still sinners. God didn't wait for us to get our lives together before He made a way for us to be reconciled to Him. Suffering for Doing Good (1 Peter 4:19) 28 Oct 2026

Today’s Bible Verse: “So then, those who suffer according to God’s will should commit themselves to their faithful Creator and continue to do good.” — 1 Peter 4:19 Peter offers a steadying truth for weary hearts: even in seasons of hardship, we’re not abandoned—we’re held by a faithful Creator who sees every step we take. This verse invites us to place our lives back into God’s hands, not with resignation, but with trust. And while the struggle may tempt us to shut down or pull away, Peter calls us to keep doing good—because suffering doesn’t get the final word. God’s faithfulness does. Trusting God in Every Season (Ecclesiastes 3:1) 27 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:" — Ecclesiastes 3:1 How do you trust God when life changes and you don't know what comes next? Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that life unfolds in different seasons, each with its own challenges, opportunities, and purpose. Some seasons bring joy and growth, while others bring loss, uncertainty, or waiting. Through every change, we can trust that God remains faithful, even when we don't understand the timing or purpose of what we're experiencing. Do You Forget God When Life Is Good? (Deuteronomy 8:11) 26 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God, failing to observe his commands, his laws and his decrees." — Deuteronomy 8:11 Do you find yourself turning to God more often in difficult seasons than when life is going well? Deuteronomy 8:11 warns us not to forget the Lord when we experience comfort, success, and abundance. How God Redeems the Pain of Rejection (Judges 11:7) 23 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "Jephthah said to them, 'Didn't you hate me and drive me from my father's house? Why do you come to me now, when you're in trouble?'" — Judges 11:7 How do you move forward when rejection leaves you feeling unwanted or forgotten? Judges 11:7 reveals the pain Jephthah experienced after his family rejected him and drove him away. Yet the same people who had pushed him out eventually came to him for help when they faced trouble. His story reminds us that rejection does not have to define our future or determine our worth. The Ancient Map to Modern Peace (Psalm 119:29) 20 Oct 2026

Today’s Bible Verse: "Keep me from deceitful ways; be gracious to me and teach me your law." — Psalm 119:29 The psalmist’s prayer in Psalm 119:29 is a humble plea for integrity and discernment. In a world filled with half-truths and self-justification, he asks God to protect him from deceit—not just from others, but from the subtle lies within his own heart. True freedom begins when we allow God’s truth to reshape our thinking and guide our choices. His Word becomes the compass that steers us away from false paths and into a life marked by honesty, humility, and grace. “Want to listen without ads? What Does It Mean to Overcome the World? (1 John 5:5) 19 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God." — 1 John 5:5 What does it mean to overcome the world as a Christian? First John 5:5 reminds us that victory isn't found in worldly success, personal strength, or having a life free from struggles. True spiritual victory comes through faith in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. When we believe in Him, we can stand firm against the pressures, temptations, and fears that pull us away from God. Service Changes You | A Bonus Episode From "On The Ground with Samaritan's Purse" 17 Oct 2026

In this Bonus Episode of "On The Ground" | Service has the ability to radically change us. God can use serving others to mold and shape our hearts to look more like His. This is what happened in Angie’s life—a volunteer Kristy met while on the ground in Mississippi. Hear how the Lord is using Angie’s testimony to show others that they are never too far from Him. Jason Taft, an assistant director with Samaritan’s Purse U.S. Disaster Relief, met Angie in Mississippi after a tornado tore through the southern part of the state. He was amazed by her skills on the skid-steer, but even more amazed by her story. Angie has known about God her entire life, but she has not always walked with Him. Her upbringing was hard, and her adult life has been marked by many trials and disappointments. When twin tornadoes came through her town, Angie went out and served with U.S. Disaster Relief. She kept going back, day after day. In her private life, Angie was in active alcoholism and plagued by grief. But when she was serving, she was not drinking. Angie continually cried out to the Lord for help. About a year later, God delivered her from alcohol. Service was the catalyst that the Lord used to change Angie's heart. And now she gets to serve all over the country, using her abilities and sharing her story with homeowners and fellow volunteers. Angie tells Kristy about a particular moment on a deployment when her testimony blessed a room full of volunteers. “And I believe that God is going to use all of us … And if people will just be brave enough to tell [their] story—it gets raw, but I'm living proof that God can do anything.” – Angie Polk If you’d like to keep up to date with more stories from On the Ground, please visit SamaritansPurse.org. And he could bear Israel's misery no longer." — Judges 10:16 What happens when our own choices lead to pain, regret, and difficult consequences? Judges 10:16 reveals the depth of God's compassion for His people, even after they repeatedly turned away from Him. When the Israelites abandoned their false gods and returned to the Lord, God responded to their suffering with compassion, reminding us that His heart is not indifferent to our pain. Your Faithfulness is Not Forgotten (Acts10:4) 14 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: Cornelius stared at him in fear. “What is it, Lord?” he asked. Acts 10:4 reminds us that God sees the quiet acts of obedience, generosity, and devotion that others may overlook. Why Does God Move So Slowly? (Exodus 14:21) 12 Oct 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and all that night the Lord drove the sea back with a strong east wind and turned it into dry land. The waters were divided." — Exodus 14:21 Why does God sometimes seem slow to act when we desperately need help? Exodus 14:21 reminds us that God's timing and methods may look different from what we expect. When the Israelites stood trapped between the Red Sea and the Egyptian army, God made a way forward that they could not have created on their own. What seemed impossible became the setting for God's power and faithfulness. Want more encouragement throughout your week? Subscribe to The Good Word, LifeAudio’s free weekly newsletter. Today's Bible Verse: "The Gibeonites then sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal: 'Do not abandon your servants. Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us! Because all the Amorite kings from the hill country are fighting against us.'" — Joshua 10:6 What happens when our mistakes create difficult consequences we didn't expect? Joshua 10:6 shows the Gibeonites facing danger after making a deceptive agreement with Israel, yet Joshua responded to their need and came to their aid. This passage reminds us that even when our choices lead to complicated circumstances, God can still work through them, provide help, and guide us forward. Discernment for When LIfe Gets Complicated (Joshua 9:14) 17 Sep 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "So the men took some of their provisions, but did not ask counsel from the Lord. — Joshua 9:14 How do you make wise decisions when life gets complicated? Joshua 9:14 reveals a crucial mistake the Israelites made when they faced a difficult situation: they relied on what they could see and understand instead of seeking God's guidance. When circumstances are confusing or people and situations aren't what they seem, we need biblical discernment and prayer to help us slow down, seek God, and trust His wisdom before making important decisions. Today's Bible Verse: "Then the Lord said to Joshua, 'Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Take the whole army with you, and go up and attack Ai. For I have given into your hand the king of Ai, his people, his city and his land.'" — Joshua 8:1 What do you do when failure leaves you feeling discouraged or afraid to try again? Joshua 8:1 reminds us that failure is not the end of the story when we trust God. Today's Bible Verse: "Sanctify yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord, God of Israel, “There are devoted things among you, O Israel. You will be unable to stand before your enemies until you take away the devoted things from among you.” — Joshua 7:13 How can hidden sin affect your relationship with God and your spiritual journey? Joshua 7:13 shows that sin can create barriers between God's people and the victory He has called them to pursue. This passage reminds us that spiritual growth requires honesty, repentance, and obedience as we allow God to reveal what needs to be surrendered and removed from our lives. Trusting God's Unusual Instructions (Joshua 6:20) 10 Sep 2026

Today's Bible Verse: "So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpet, the people shouted a great shout, and the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they captured the city." - Joshua 6:20 What do you do when God gives you instructions that don't make sense? Joshua 6:20 reminds us that trusting God sometimes means following an unusual path and obeying even when we don't understand how His plan will work. The Israelites didn't conquer Jericho through their own strength or strategy—they trusted God's instructions, acted in faith, and witnessed His power. Want more encouragement throughout your week? Today's Bible Verse:"Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, 'Are you for us or for our enemies?' 'Neither,' he replied, 'but as commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.' Then Joshua fell facedown to the ground in reverence, and asked him, 'What message does my Lord have for his servant?'" — Joshua 5:13–14 What do you do when you can't see what comes next? Joshua 5:13–14 reminds us that before Joshua faced the battle of Jericho, he encountered the commander of the Lord's army and was reminded that the battle ultimately belonged to God.
